Gas Installation Certificate of Compliance (CoC) – R950

Ensure your gas installation is fully compliant with SANS regulations. Our service includes a site visit, a comprehensive inspection, leak and pressure test all for R950 for 1 x Appliance.

Additional Appliances: R150 per appliance beyond the first one.

  • Non-Compliant Installations: If your installation does not meet compliance standards, we will provide an on-site quote for necessary adjustments. Upon approval, we will proceed with the required upgrades to bring your installation up to code.
  • For Property Transactions: A CoC no older than 3 months is required to confirm the safety of the gas installation for the new property owner.
  • Insurance Requirements: Annual inspections may be mandated by insurance providers to comply with policy conditions.

Important Notice: The Gas Association now issues digital CoCs. Paper certificates are no longer available. Inspections are required every 5 years, with an updated CoC issued following each inspection.

Following the inspection, we will perform all necessary testing and certification. You will receive a Certificate of Compliance to your email confirming adherence to SANS 10087 standards with a copy forwarded to SAQCC Gas.

What Is Checked During a Gas Inspection?

  • Cylinder/Bottle Location to meet regulation
  • Condition of Pigtails. Any cracking it will need to be replaced
  • Check for leaks on the gas line with a leak detect liquid.
  • Ensure the correct gas line or sleeving has been installed as per SANS
  • Check if the unit/appliance is on the Safe Appliances data base.
  • Pressure the complete system.

Once Passed, We will Issue a CoC.


* Safety regulations mandate the replacement of pigtails and orange gas hoses every 5 years or at any point it starts cracking.

CoC not required for movable appliances

When Don't I require a gas CoC?

If you have an appliance that isn't permanently fixed to the property such as,

  • Roll Around Gas Heater's
  • Gas Braai on wheels or one that isn't built in.
  • 2 plate gas burner for cooking while camping.

If a property has a fixed gas installation connected to any of the above appliance, It will need to be removed and replaced with a safe appliance unit that will have a permit number.
